Product Suppliers - Intro

Dear Sir(s),

The United Patients Alliance formed in June 2014 to offer help and support to medical cannabis patients and to lobby the UK government and campaign for legal access to cannabis therapeutics.

With only the passion, hard work and determination of medical cannabis patients volunteering their strength, passion and time to help every person in the UK who could benefit from a change in the law, we have made an impressive amount of progress:

Headline Progress made to date:
(More News Here)
  • June 2014 - Launched with support from Caroline Lucas MP and Prof David Nutt
  • Sep 2016 - APPG Inquiry into Medicinal Cannabis
  • April 2017 - Announce Norman Baker as a patron
  • September 2017 - Many more amazing announcements and appointments (TBC)

We have made some impressive progress thus far, but didn't do all of this to stop now! As the goal gets closer, the stakes get higher and to get the support we need, we need to raise funds so that we can really get thing moving.

We are now in a good position to find a sustainable business model so that we can take our organisation and our campaigning to the next level.

To that end, we are building a small, curated catalogue of cannabis consumer products which we are happy to recommend to patients and their carers. Our selection will be chosen specifically for the quality of the products, so that health conscious consumers, medical cannabis patients and their carers can purchase ethically produced goods of the highest grade.

For example, patients who consume cannabis for arthritis may find grinders with handles more comfortable; rollers that can be operated with one hand; vaporisers that are easy to use, store plenty, and are easy to draw your medicine from and will help consumers move away from smoking. The UPA will NOT be supporting or selling products related to tobacco or smoking.

That paints a picture for you, but please paint your own. UPA support and represent patients and if we are to be successful in our goals, we are going to need your help. We know and can communicate with many patients, our social media interaction numbers are growing every day, and patients love to give feedback on products! You know your products. So rather than us scouring through your product range we invite you to present a few that you think would be appropriate.

We are incorporating as a Charity, so if you would like to donate something to help us achieve, legal access to cannabis therapeutics in the UK, through sponsoring an event or donating giveaways, raffle prizes or any other resources you may have to offer, you would be most welcome.

We would also like to invite you to attend our AGM in Birmingham on Saturday September 30th perhaps with a small stand demonstrating and selling products you feel would be appropriate in return for which you can offer to help fund or sponsor the event and/or offer raffle prizes etc - open to all ideas?

If you are interested in engaging further, either regarding the AGM or a future working partnership, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Yours Faithfully

UPA - Cannawell CBD Products

CBD Rich Hemp Oil

United Patients Alliance have been aware for a long time now, that there are many thousands of people in the UK who feel that supplementing their intake of cannabinoids, especially with maximised proportions of CBD is beneficial for their health and well-being.

There are an ever increasing array of products appearing, most with very few quality or legality checks and balances. We get asked frequently for advice on product and vendor trust and quality.

http://imcpc.org/warning-for-consumers-of-cbd-and-cannabis-oils-sold-on-the-eu-market/

Recently, it was brought to the attention the MHRA that some vendors in this rapidly growing and entirely unregulated industry were making medical claims for their product(s) and issued a statement that these products should be removed from the market, and licenses applied for.

UPA asked for the help of Norman Lamb MP, who, along with Baroness Meacher, Professor David Nutt, the European Industrial Hemp Association and members, have been able to clarify and address the MHRAs concerns, who will be making a final statement, on what constitutes a “medicine” and will require a license in due course. Regulations for all other full spectrum CBD Rich Hemp extract products are now being agreed by the EIHA and the Food Standards Authority and are expected to be agreed in due course.

For UPA to endorse any product supplier to our patients and supporters, we will expect the very highest quality standards. We have currently identified one supplier with whom we are confident meet and in fact exceed these standards, and whilst the quality guarantees they provide make the prices seem steep, we believe that the certainty of receiving a legal, quality product exactly as ordered and described is worth it.

CannaWell are members of the European Indusrtial Hemp Association and are the exclusive European distributor for Bluebird Botanicals, America's favourite and award winning hemp company. They are a true leader and creator of the hempcannabinoid industry and are one of the world's leading producers of CO2 hemp extracts and oils.

Bluebird Botanicals have the most stringent quality control system in the industry and intend to continue to set standards. Their products conform to the USs CGMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and only 3rd-party laboratories are used for analysis.

Unlike any other hemp products on the market, every single bottle has a full set of 3rd-party Certificates of Analysis to give customers the peace of mind they deserve. The batch number can be found on the base of your oil bottle and with it you can go online and see its verified potency and purity credentials. Each set of testing includes a separate analysis for the cannabinoid profile, potential microbial life, mold, mildew, heavy metals, and pesticides. So when you consume any of their hemp products you can now know EXACTLY what’s in it - no guesswork involved!

The hemp extract is a full spectrum CO2 oil extraction of an industrial hemp variety of Cannabis Sativa.

PRESS RELEASE - UNITED PATIENTS ALLIANCE - Norman Baker

United Patients Alliance Press Release - No Embargo

Norman Baker UPA Workshop - March 2017

Former UK Gov Drugs Minister announced as Patron of Medical Cannabis Org.

Since being launched in 2014 with the help of Caroline Lucas MP, United Patients Alliance have always been a charitable organisation and have worked hard to make allies and supporters within political spheres. Now on our journey to becoming a registered charity we are proud and honoured to announce former UK Government Drugs Minister and LibDem MP for Lewes, Norman Baker as our first Patron:

“I have gladly accepted the offer to become patron of the UPA. They are a well organised and sensible group. I am very clear from my time as drugs minister in the coalition government that for some people, access to cannabis is essential for their health and it is disgraceful that not only are they denied access to vital medicine but prosecuted if they access it themselves. The UPA makes a strong case for a more humane approach and I am delighted to do what I can to support them."

LibDem Parliamentary Candidate for Lewes, Kelly-Marie Blundell is very supportive:
"As a long time campaigner for access to cannabis for medicinal purposes, I'm pleased to see the United Patients Alliance go from strength to strength, and I hope with Norman Baker on board as well, we can see more action."

Clark French, Founder and Director of United Patients Alliance
“United Patients Alliance is delighted to welcome Norman as our first Patron. After our meetings with Norman at his constituency office he took Keiron Reeves and I to the home office to talk about how medical cannabis helps us. Having a former drugs Minister as a part of of the UPA is going to strengthen our organisation which in turn will help us to play a bigger part in the inevitable changes to future cannabis laws.”

Jon Liebling, Political Director:

“We look forward to continuing our work with the support of such an influential political figure such as Norman on board and look forward to making more exiting announcements and collaborations over the coming months.”

Introducing United Patients Alliance
The United Patients Alliance are a rapidly growing support and campaigning community for medical cannabis patients who suffer from a range of conditions including; Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Crohn’s, Anxiety, Depression, AIDS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, ME, PTSD, Epilepsy, Chronic and Neuropathic Pain all of whom have found that various types and strengths of cannabis consumed in a variety of ways has proven to be a more effective medicine than their legal and prescribed alternatives in improving their lives, reducing side effects and treating their symptoms. These patients are forced to either live in unnecessary discomfort and pain or risk dealing with criminals for their medicine and a criminal record for growing it or consuming it.

We launched in June 2014 with the support of Caroline Lucas MP and Professor David Nutt and have since gained the direct support of a number of other politicians, including former drugs minister, Norman Baker. We run Patient Perspective and Cannabis College events around the UK to give patients a forum for telling their stories and to help inform the public of the proven medical benefits whilst dispelling the myths and half-truths about its harms. We estimate that there are about 1m active and current medical cannabis consumers who would immediately benefit from a change in this dreadful situation. In terms of genuine information on medical cannabis and how best to consume it, we are the UK’s experts on cannabis as a medicine.
