Cannatech - London October 2017

Cannatech - London October 2017

Hey Upeeps - Time for an update on Cannatech - Please Keep the information limited to ADMIN for the time being - will be writing an update for wader sharing in due course - this is just for this group and hopefully will interest and excite you!

Lousy acoustics, crap location for parking and our stand was a post!
I'd just put all the stuff I was carrying down and 3 strangers approached to start asking questions about United Patients Alliance and it carried on like that all day. Food was excellent - Kosher was a popular option, of course.

The free food and bar in the evening left a slightly bitter taste - profit and entertainment before patients?? We basically were the Patient voice in this conference - Glad we were there - we need to be - lots of good people - lots of sharks!

Abby will need to update on her connections - anyone up for taking UPA to South Africa with her?

Vital Hids

Best speaker - 19/20 yr old Dutch Cronhs Patient (with a new CBD business) - He shared his story for the first time in his life. If that's his first - good speaker. He's got a great presentation on Cannabis and Cronhs - he wants to meet up and see one of our events - maybe copy UPA for or for promotion in Holland?

Tikun Olam

Met with Tikun Olam - They had read everything on our website - everything - They said they have an affinity and empathy for what we are doing as they started out many years ago as a bunch of patients wanting to drive more research and get more effective products to patients.
They took a bunch of risks is investing in Patient Data - they started with surveys that led to better ones and ultimately to collecting data from All their patients and began to design "human trials - acceptable academic levels of control and cohort size (20 patients - 3 months data, then another, and another) - When All these companies finally realised that for approving any other medicine - a scientific  double blind study will always be the best - but for cannabis - it is so more personal and so more complex that ONLY their data gave medical professionals the information they needed to get more effective products to patients more quickly - They are now the more respected and most needed cannabis organisation in Isreal -  everyone needs what they have produced for patient care!

They would like to share pretty much everything they can "commercially" with UPA - We are the ONLY organisation in the UK they are really interested in helping (selling product - excepted)  - because they are focused on patients needs and patients care - they have a London office now - we shall get an invite soon - they might be able to provide some of their trial data and are keen to help us make our website information as good as the best in the world (in their opinion)

In addition - they happen to produce their own range of CBD products they would quite like to launch in the UK

Medipen!

The very first approach we got - two rather large, smart and a little pushy chaps, Jordan Owen (matey, chatty) and Sam Asante (focused, serious) - quite a double act actually - They want one or two or a few? of us to their offices and lab and spend half a day or more checking then out in whatever way we wish - "open book" visit.
They talked about some of the mistakes they have made and why they have invested £1.5m in research and innovation. They showed some comms with the MHRA - and a few other little gems casting doubt on some other people and organisations.
They are either really cool and have been completely misjudged - OR - they are worse than the worst!
Steve Moore and Gavin are going to do a bit of digging there - I think we should accept their hospitality and go check em out? - Who wants to come?

CEO and Founder Tracey Ryan is happy to share everything they have as we see fit - lots of research and good info - also has live medical advice from qualified US nurses who cover paediatrics too - she was lovely - her daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer at age 8 - her mum tried oil in addition to her chemo. She's now in remission. Tracey wants to share with the world.

Besides those and at Cannatech we also had offers of assistance from:

Material assistance (money) from:

Medipen
FCM Global - Columbian Hemp/CBD grower
Zev Barnett - mavenhemp.com - THC Free products (I have some to test??)
HempIre - Did have a UK +THC license - innovating - wants to help us help make change happen in the UK - Just had license revoked with no explanation
Harmony - French based CBD Company looking for new partners.
There were one or two others who said they would be in touch to give us some cash - won't hold my breath - but you never know?

Data/advice/marketing from:

T.H.Consulting & Genetic Developments - Israel
Prohibition Partners - all their "Cannabis around the world data is ours to use - they might like to collaborate on creating more together - www.prohibitionpartners.com
Sam Blacklock - www.texerepublishing.com - publishing/marketing help and advice
Rudi Morgan - Australia based Social Media Marketing - will give free support
Dr Gratziela Lazarov - www.naturesgiftcbd.com - A qualified medical doctor from US - wants to help in many ways - she would like to throw us a fundraiser, share her info/research/data - provide qualified advice/opinion - helping engage with doctors in the UK - looking to set up a local company to help distribute her CBD products - the chap who is helping her do that wants to help us too.

The conference itself, whilst good for UPA was rather too heavy on business and light on investors - the city folk are getting interested but this didn't catch them right - Steve and Gavin have some ideas to make an investor event for UPA rather better - WIP

I'll be working through that list over the next few weeks to see if any of them deliver :)
Let me know if 1: You wanna get involved 2: Any questions about anything.
